Single Mode DEWALT Compact SDS Rotary Hammers are designed for users who only drill concrete and masonry materials.  

Three Mode DEWALT Compact SDS Rotary Hammers are designed for users who drill concrete and masonry materials plus wood, steel and the occasional light chipping.
